One of the most challenging aspects of dog training is finding the appropriate people and places to apply skills learned in a controlled environment. Training classes teach you the skills you need, and then you’re left to figure out how to use them in the real world on your own. Pick a setting that’s too stimulating or with the potential for unwanted surprises, or someone with good intentions but lack of understanding, and suddenly you can find yourself in the middle of mayhem instead of the productive practice scenario you were hoping to achieve.
Super Set Up Sundays is designed to provide controlled environments with like-minded people so that you and your dog can successfully practice what you’ve learned without trying to re-invent the wheel. Enlist folks who can relate to what you’re hoping to achieve to help you get there while also helping them with their dogs during the session in return, under the watchful eye of an experienced trainer.
Help your dog and others with:
Confidence building with people
Polite greetings with people
Social and environmental distractions, including other dogs where appropriate
Cooperative care
What’s required:

A clear idea of what you want your dog to work on when you arrive.
With a limit of four dogs per one hour session you can expect about 10-12 minutes of intensely focused, productive training time with your own dog. You’ll be working with the other dogs in the class for the remainder of the class session. Locations vary, depending on need, but will be within ten minutes of the Howard County Fairgrounds.
These sessions are by instructor invitation only. $25/session.
